Spyware Doctor Review – Honest Opinion!

User Interface

At first glance, Spyware Doctor has an interface similar to some of the top commercial internet security suites out there and that’s a good thing. Everything is cleanly organized and has a nice wizard like approach that is essential for pointing newbie to the right path in getting their tasks done. It does mean that some options are more clicks away from others, but the user interface as a whole should be easy enough to get used to quickly.

Reliability

Some spyware can be very difficult to remove like the old and notorious CoolWebSearch. Other malware can have up to 15 steps for manual removal simply because no other adware scanners can do a complete job in removing the threats. However, Spyware Doctor easily prevails and manages to take out tough adware and makes a fairly reliable spyware blocker.

Flexibility

For computer systems that have low amounts of adware present, a full scan option may not be the best choice since it can take really long depending on the size of the hard disk. Although Spyware Doctor does have the full scan as the default scan, Spyware Doctor adds some flexibility by incorporating “Intelli-scan” feature which is commonly referred to as a “Quick Scan” for scanning known areas of adware threats. This scan is useful for pinning down common threats in a much faster manner.

Detection

Spyware Doctor can detect a handful including the annoying threats like SpyAxe and Spy Falcon. In addition, Spyware Doctor comes with over 600,000 signatures, which means that Spyware Doctor is a real weapon against any computer infected with all kinds of different adware. All of those signatures mean slower scanning time above the 15-minute mark.

Accuracy

Spyware Doctor is fairly accurate in removing critical threats, but there are some instances where adware is removed and other programs stop functioning because of that. Fortunately, there is an option to rollback the changes and when that doesn’t fix everything, a simple reinstall of the program should fix things.

Stability

Spyware Doctor may be a bit slow for some since the interface is a bit more sophisticated and it has a lot of signatures that is used for scanning, but it does the job slowly, but surely without any major crashing. It is better to leave this program running if you have more RAM and processor power to avoid suffering from any stability issues. Computers having lower specs, may want to go with a faster spyware removal software.

Support

Although no links to support can be found anywhere in their website, customer support is pretty good and is found within the program. It would have been nice to have a “Live Chat” feature in their website, but their support overall is decent.

Overall

Spyware Doctor is an excellent choice for eliminating spyware and other elements that can bog down performance. It does come packed with more signatures than a lot of the other anti-spyware programs, but this makes updating a bit slow so users may find it a bit tough to keep up with the latest threats. It is worthy however in being one of the top adware scanners today because of the sleek interface and strength in getting rid of adware effectively.
