One registry cleaner that has been getting a lot of attention lately is RegCure. This review explains why RegCure deserves the top spot at Registry Cleaner Geeks (with a score of 9.7 out of 10) of all the registry cleaners out there.

Installation

Like most registry cleaners, RegCure is only available on their ParentoLogic website (beware of imitations). The file size is amazingly small at 1.4mb, and the compatibility is great with a single edition supporting Windows 98 all the way up to Windows Vista installations. No problems were found in setting up the program, the installation was quick and easy for anyone to perform and no additional adware was included.

First Impressions

Upon launching Regcure, the interface is immediately noticed and it looks great. It sticks to a good color scheme and has five large buttons complete with text and icons leading to the different parts and functions of the program. Anybody trying this program out for the first time is sure not to get lost or confused.

Scanning Performance

Scanning our test computer (Dell AMD Athlon x2 3800+, 2.00Ghz, 2Gb Ram) didn’t take very long and when it finished, the results were nicely laid out and great in number (above 700 on first scan), many crucial registry defects were detected that other scanners failed to pick up. Clean up is a breeze and the results really shined when we rebooted the computer, making a noticable difference in the boot up time and overall operating speed.

Custom scans can be initialized for advanced users who want certain areas of the registry to be scanned and any false positives that it may find can easily be ignored from future scans easily by using the “Ignore List”. Another great highlight is the ability to backup all of the detected registry entries before changes or deletions are made in case any registry fixes bring about problems. This makes RegCure absolutely risk-free and sure to fix a wide range of windows problems.

Extra Features

RegCure has a handy feature that allows you to manage startup programs to find out if any harmful or unnecessary software is run on boot. These unwanted programs can be disabled or removed to dramatically increase startup performance.

A restore feature is also included, which allows any backups made prior to scanning to be loaded in case the computer acts erratic or if any application settings are missing. Combined with the ignore list, this allows users to filter what entries get removed and what stays preserved.

The automatic repair option is useful for performing RegCure operations in multiple computers. This allows for fast and easy maintenance for any unit. Scanning operations can also be scheduled so that the registry stays clean without any user intervention.

Bottom Line

RegCure is truly the best performing program amongst all the registry cleaners due to its fast and accurate means of fixing registry problems. All the extras in the program add up to be a fully-fledged maintenance software that all computers should have to ensure maximum performance.

It is fairly priced and can even be downloaded for free allowing free scans to be performed to determine if the system slowdowns are caused by registry corruption. Once this is established you have the option of paying a nominal fee for a license key to activate and register the full version of the software allowing it to optimize your pc to its full potential.
