Error Nuker Review
Error Nuker is a decent registry cleaner solution that is designed by TrekBlue – the same company that developed the other maintenance programs including Spyware Nuker, Popup Nuker, and Spam Nuker. This review will decide if Error Nuker lives up to the other successful products that TrekBlue made and see if it beats out the competition.
Installation
Error Nuker can be obtained from a variety of websites that house the other programs as well and collecting these programs can help make the performance better. The installer is very tiny and connects to the internet in downloading the needed files. It works pretty well with all operating systems and the latest version improves support for Windows Vista and 64-bit operating systems.
First Impressions
Error Nuker has the typical look and feel of most scanner tools having the menu items on the left and the main window on the right. The interface looks professionally done without all the unnecessary colorful elements, but the fonts could use a change. However, the use of icons for each registry category blends pretty well. New users should feel pretty welcome and should not have any trouble in executing basic tasks within Error Nuker.
Scanning Performance
Full registry scans take a bit longer than other programs when Error Nuker is used. But the time is well worth it as Error Nuker manages to detect real registry defects and leaves the clean ones alone. The only downside of this method of scanning is that newer and more elusive entries may not end up as threats. Error Nuker still knows how to go through all the categories by scanning start-up entries, DLL references, driver problems, missing fonts, and other areas.
Error Nuker comes complete with 3 types of scans – Automatic Scan, Custom Scan, and Manual Cleanup. Automatic scans are best for newbies while Manual cleanups are good for advanced users who know how to interpret every problem and customize what problems need to be fixed. Custom scans allow certain areas to be scanned making the scans quicker.
The results of the scan were generally positive and systems should run a lot better with many of the annoying error messages removed. Backups are also made before each entry is removed to further minimize risks.
Extra Features
Error Nuker features a small startup manager that aids in preventing certain programs from loading when the computer turns on. The “Restore” function can effortlessly load previous automatic backups whenever needed. Other than these functions, Error Nuker brings nothing else and that’s good to keep things simple.
Bottom Line
Error Nuker is a versatile program with a solid interface that favors non-technical and technical users alike with the different scanning options. It isn’t the fastest and best program out on the registry cleaner market today, but there is nothing generally wrong with it either making Error Nuker a good pick. It also allows people to give their registry a full checkup complete with a breakdown of registry problems free.
